Foods That Cause Constipation

Today we are going to talk about foods that cause constipation in most people. So why do we not talk about foods that cause constipation in everyone? That is because everyone is different! Something that may give you constipation may not give your friend constipation. You may be able to eat a lot of constipation causing foods without getting it, but your brother cannot. Everyone is different, and our bodies can handle some things that are better than others. However, there is one thing that is true for everyone. That is the fact that your diet and constipation are linked. What you eat is going to have a direct result on if you have constipation or not. Most of the time, people can avoid their own constipation just by watching their diet.

Some of the most eaten foods that cause constipation are prepared foods. Now, this is something that can cause constipation, but normally it only causes constipation if that is all you eat. Prepared foods are anything that is cooked, baked, steamed, canned, or fried. You can tell that, nowadays, it would be impossible to go around and eat nothing except unprepared food. This is not something that you should do anyway. However, you should try to increase a little bit of your intake of foods that are not prepared. These are things like raw vegetables and fruit.

The next thing that you have to worry about is dairy products. This is one of the most common things in the world that cause constipation. In fact, when it comes down to it, dairy is the main cause of constipation in most people. Dairy foods that cause constipation are things like milk, yogurt, cheese and so on. Normally milk and cheese are the worst for people. However, anything that comes out of an animal in this form, whether it's a cow, goat, or whatever, can give you constipation.

Diet and constipation are linked, that is for sure. If you are one of those people, that takes supplementary vitamins, because you do not get everything you need from your diet, you need to be careful as well. Not all supplementary vitamins cause constipation, but there are some that do. For example, supplementary iron does cause constipation. Although it is not known why yet, you just need to note that it does. On top of that, supplementary calcium can cause it as well. However, doctors know why this causes it. When your calcium levels are elevated, the colon muscles contract. This causes your colon muscles to become inhibited. Taking a little bit of calcium supplements is fine, but taking too much is not good for you. Either way, doctors say that supplementary calcium is not as good for you as normal calcium.

As you can see, your diet and constipation are two things that go hand-in-hand. If you are able to watch what you eat, then you should be able to avoid constipation. After all, the best cure for constipation is to not have to deal with it in the first place. So watch what you eat, and be sure to get moving around every day. This should all come together to help you avoid constipation.
