Digestive System Disorders

We already know that there are a lot of different digestive system disorders out there. However, what we do not know is what causes the digestive system diseases. The truth of the matter is this, there are a lot of different things that can cause these problems. Today we are going to take a look at what causes digestive system disorders. By knowing what causes them, you can avoid these problems. Although some of the digestive system disorders can still be a problem, the main thing to remember is the fact that you will reduce your chances of getting these disorders if you can avoid what we are about to talk about.

The biggest thing that causes digestive system disorders is stress. It does not matter what kind of stress either. It can be physical stress, emotional stress, or even mental stress. These all play a role in poor digestion, which leads to other digestive system diseases. You see, when people get stressed out, the body starts up its survival mechanisms. One of these survival tools is to divert energy and blood from the digestive system to other areas of the body that the brain thinks needs it more. Thus, this can cause a lot of problems for the digestive system as a whole.

However, stress is not the only thing that can cause these digestive system disorders. Antibiotics also play a role against our digestive systems. This is because antibiotics sometimes kill a lot of our naturally occurring bacteria, which we need for digestion. Over a long time of using antibiotics, they can really damage the digestive system. That is why it is best to talk to your doctor about the antibiotics that you are on, and see if there is another way to fight off whatever the problem is that you are having.

The next thing that can cause digestive system diseases is a poor diet. This is one that most people would expect. For example, eating a lot of processed food is not good for you. If you have a very steady diet of only eating processed foods, then it forces your body to rob itself of things like copper, manganese, and chromium. The best kind of diet that you can have is, of course, a high fiber diet. Any diet that is low in fiber does not give you the food components that you need to move things through your intestines. The first thing that you will notice is that a diet that is low in fiber has a low transit time, meaning that it takes longer for the food to go from your mouth to your anus. The digestive system is made to absorb what it needs quickly. Thus, if you have a slow transit time, then there is a great risk that you are going to absorb things that you do not want to, like toxins.

As you can see, there are a lot of things that can cause your digestive system to not function right. This is just a short list and does not cover everything that you need to watch out for. However, the most important thing that you can do is make sure that you have a good diet.
