Perforated Colon
Chances are, you are one of the many people around
the world that now wants to know more about their colon.
The fact of the matter is, the colon is an area of the
body that we use to not worry a lot about. However,
people have started to worry more about their colon
and want to know ways that they can take care of it.
As they learn more about the colon, they hear about
colon
problems that they never even knew of. For example,
a lot of people never heard of a perforated colon. So
that brings up that question, what is a perforated colon?
Well, that just so happens to be the topic that we are
going to talk about today. We are going to cover what
it means and who is more likely to get. On top of that,
we will cover a few different things that could help
us determine how to keep from getting a perforated colon.
First of all, what is perforated colon. In general
medical and colon
health this actually refers to a colon problem which
may occur throughout your whole gastrointestinal tract.
Of course, it takes place mostly in the descending
colon, which is on your left side. A colon
with this kind of problem is going to have a herniation
of mucosa throughout the colon muscle. Most of the time,
they range in size to about five to ten millimeters.
However, they can reach sizes up to two centimeters
in size. Over time, this can actually block your feces
(often called an impacted
colon) from leaving your body, and as it builds
up in that area of the body, can actually cause bad
infections there.
So, who is more likely to get this kind of problem in their colon. The older you get, the better shot you have at getting this kind of problem in your colon. If you are going to have a perforated colon, then you are more than likely going to have it during the middle of your life or towards your elderly years, meaning that most people seem to get it in their mid 50's and up. It is very, very rare for anyone that is younger than the age of forty to ever get this problem. Also, although doctors do not know how this affects it, people who are obese seem to be the people who have this problem the most. It could be because of what they are eating. Fatty foods tend to block up their colon.
It's also funny to note that it is very rare to find
this kind of colon problem in places like Africa and
Asia. That is because of the types of foods that they
eat. A lot of them use different types of herbs in their
cooking that can help in keeping perforated colon symptoms
from happening. Either way, it is best to eat natural
foods and keep from eating fatty foods. If you can do
that, then you can live a happier life, and your colon
is going to be a lot happier as well.
